Weekly Curriculum – Recap
What a wonderful week! Thank you for letting me get to know your wonderful children. In language arts we learned how to write summaries and worked on English. We also worked on independent needs on handwriting, spelling, capitalization, and punctuation through the completion of English assignments. In math we did some review and learned about points, lines, line segments, and rays. In social studies we learned about slavery in Michigan and states.

Store and Mother’s Day Gift
Please make sure your child has turned in his/her $5.00 for store (student #4) and $2.00 for a Mother’s Day Gift (students #4 and #16.) Thank you.
School Website
I will do my best to get newsletters and as much homework as possible on our school website, www.midlandacademy.com.
Email Grade Notifications
Please remember that these are a tool for which to track struggles or lack of motivation and do not reflect your child personally. They help keep you updated on assignments your child struggled with, whether through content or following directions. They help you to know what to review with your child or when they are not meeting classroom expectations. One or two notifications will not affect a student’s grade (unless it is a project grade), however, if a child receives three or more in one subject area, please see me. Thank you.
Homework
Homework for next week is 150 minutes reading, 60 minutes writing, and practicing of math facts. Please sign your child’s slip and have him/her return before or by next Thursday morning. Additionally, please go through the discipline plan and procedures and have your child return the bottom portion. Thank you
Have a great weekend!!
