The Midland Academy of Advanced and Creative Studies is the perfect choice for those who desire a rigorous, college-preparatory education for children, regardless of the public school district in which they reside.  As a charter school, there is no tuition for parents who choose to send their children to our school.  We take pride in being a school in the United States of America; our students still say the Pledge of Allegiance and we actually teach students about our Constitution.

By design, The Midland Academy provides a safe, structured, and friendly atmosphere where students can grow and excel academically. Our faculty and staff provide a professional, caring, and motivational environment for our students ensuring their success.

The advanced curriculum that we provide, challenges all students to reach their full potential. To foster higher levels of thinking, students are encouraged to apply, analyze and create with their newfound knowledge, and our faculty at The Academy is passionate about inspiring and educating young people. One of our methods to provide and nurture that positive environment is the requirement of a simple and modest, yet attractive dress code for students.

Enrollment at The Midland Academy is determined on a first-come, first-served, space available basis. Because we are a charter school and therefore a public school, enrollment is tuition free.

Critical to the culture at The Midland Academy is our unswerving commitment to character development. To this end, we provide 16 character virtues (Self-discipline, Dependability, Courage, Loyalty, Responsibility, Cooperation, Honesty, Diligence, Excellence, Humility, Patience, Prudence, Respect, Empathy, Industriousness and Forgiveness) as the basis for student behavior. Additionally we believe it is important to teach our students leadership skills so they will have the foundation and courage to become respected leaders in our society.

The Midland Academy consistently scores in the top 10 percent of all Michigan schools on the state-mandated tests (MEAP). This is a result of the consistent delivery of a structured, solid, well-rounded academic program, taught by excellent teachers, and supported by our parents. The Midland Academy does not “teach to the test”, as many schools do. We have demonstrated with our program that you can teach skills and knowledge to children without limiting the scope of the program with the low expectations of a state mandated test.
