Discipline Plan
In order for each student to be successful academically, I feel that they must also be self-disciplined. Each student must be responsible for his or her own behavior. In order to foster a positive educational climate, this assertive discipline plan will be operating at all times so that each of us can learn to our greatest potential.
Classroom Rules:
- Listen
- Raise your hand
- Follow directions
- Be respectful of others (no yelling, screaming, name calling or teasing)
- Keep hand, feet and objects to yourself
- Do not run in or leave the classroom without permission
As an encouragement, appropriate behavior will be rewarded with Behavior Bucks, verbal and non-verbal praise, as well as class-wide rewards.
If a student chooses to break a rule:
1st time-Name on board=warning
2nd time- √ =Lose a behavior buck
3rd time- √ =Spend 5 minutes away from group and a demerit is given.
4th time- √ =Phone call home. Parent and child discuss the behavior and a plan is formed as to how the child should respond if that situation occurs again. A note should be sent to school the next day stating what was discussed.
Sometimes, students will be sent directly to the time-out chair to remove them from a disruptive situation or a demerit may be immediately given if behavior is such that requires a demerit.
Severe disruption= removal from the classroom and parent may be called to remove the child from school.
I have read the classroom discipline plan and have discussed it with my child.
