First Grade

Hello Parents,

                Math: Quarters and digital clocks! We have worked with both but are catching up in our curriculum.

                Grammar: More work with contractions then moving into exploration of the noun!

Spelling: Once again we have a short week but will have a full spelling list.

Social Studies: Presidents Day is Monday, we will be looking at the lives of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

                Reading: Our reading comprehension is going well.

                Games: I would like to mention that game play is very important for kids. Board games and card games teach many skills such as counting, reading, strategizing, patience, socializing, and sportsmanship. I encourage you to take some time to play a non-electronic game with your children!
